Telling stories to stimulate change.
Click to DonateEvery gift helps us create awareness about the very real impact of mass incarceration on people of color and the poor.
We are native southern filmmakers creating a two-part project; a scripted short film and a documentary.
It’s our goal to shine a light on the inequality towards people of color and the poor in southern states by for-profit prison systems, and hope that these stories stimulate authentic conversations so that our communities can find ways to encourage and facilitate permanent criminal justice reform.
A CRY FOR HELP: SHORT FILM
Shot in March this year in Shreveport, LA our short film is currently in post-production. Written, produced, and directed by an experienced Louisiana team, the film will be headed for a festival run ahead of its use to stimulate community conversations for criminal justice reform.
Logline: When a man of color is convicted of a crime he did not commit, his life and death hang in the hands of a woman too afraid to stand for truth.
A CRY FOR HELP: DOCUMENTARY
Telling the real-life stories about the effects of mass incarceration, our documentary (which is in production) – as told by attorneys, judges, community advocates, those wrongly imprisoned or over-incarcerated, and by repeat offenders – will be used as a means to engage communities in the conversation focused on positive change.
Your donation will be applied directly to post-production and marketing costs, and – thanks to our fiscal sponsor – is tax-deductible.
